Body of Abstract: The U.S. deathcare industry is a 20-billion-dollar multi-disciplinary complex (Haneman, 2021), including funeral homes, alternative body disposition providers, death doulas, thanatologists, faith-based and secular spirit and soul care, and medical, nursing, legal, and political fields. Suicide is often a stigmatized death and can result in experiences of discrimination and marginalization for those left behind. This may induce worry for families when seeking deathcare for loved ones lost to suicide. Building bridges between suicide prevention providers, suicide loss survivors, and the deathcare industry requires relationship-building, mutual education, and advocacy.
