Elizabeth "Betsy" McCue MS (she/her), is a research coordinator at St. Luke's Health System in Boise, Idaho. She has over 7 years of experience in global and public health. Betsy received her undergraduate degree from Augustana University in 2015, with a major in Biology. She then completed a Master of Science in Global Health graduate program at the University of Notre Dame. Her graduate and post-graduate research focused on preventing infant mortality in southwestern Uganda and St. Joseph County, Indiana. Betsy returned to her home state of Idaho in 2020 and shifted her research focus to behavioral health and suicide prevention.
In her current role as a clinical research coordinator, Betsy contributes to clinical trials and manuscripts exploring the use of caring contacts in suicide prevention. Additionally, she contributes work to qualitative research projects exploring patient and provider experiences with suicide prevention care and follow-up interventions. Betsy has been included as an author on several publications related to the MHAPPS and SPARC Clinical Trials. She is currently working on the SPRING Trial, which is comparing one-way caring contacts, to two-way caring contacts and usual care.
