Dr. Rosen is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medine at Weill Cornell Medicine, the Associate Director of Research in the Department of Emergency Medicine, and practicing Emergency Physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Rosen’s research focuses on improving identification, intervention, and prevention of elder abuse in the ED and other health care settings. His work has explored forensic injury patterns in physical elder abuse and health care utilization among elder abuse victims using Medicare claims data and data mining / machine learning approaches. His work has been funded by the National Institute on Aging as well as multiple private foundations and New York State. Dr. Rosen has also led the development of a first-of-its-kind ED-based multi-disciplinary Vulnerable Elder Protection Team (VEPT) to assess, treat, and ensure the safety of elder abuse and neglect victims while collecting evidence and working closely with the authorities. Dr. Rosen has co-authored over 90 peer-reviewed manuscripts.
Dr. Rosen is involved in national efforts to improve geriatric emergency care, serving on the Board of Governors for the American College of Emergency Physicians’ Geriatric ED Accreditation Program. He received his MD from Weill Cornell Medical College and MPH in epidemiology from UCLA.
