Suicide Prevention Clinical Lead Supervisor

Amberle Prater, PhD, LPCC-S, is the clinical lead supervisor for the Center for Suicide Prevention and Research (CSPR) at Nationwide Children's Hospital. In her role, she provides clinical care to adolescents and families, coordinates implementation of suicide prevention programming in schools, provides community-based suicide-prevention trainings, and supports the hospital’s ZeroSuicide initiative. Dr. Prater has supported the implementation of the SOS Signs of Suicide Program and screening in over 250 schools throughout central and southeast Ohio since 2015. As a supervisor she provides ongoing consultation and support to her team and manages partnerships with schools. She has also developed and provided trainings to staff and community behavioral health partners on identifying and responding to elevated suicide risk in youth.
