Parents Support Group Co-Leader, Facilitator for Family to Family Classes

Susan Todoroff is an advocate and educator for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Washtenaw County in Ann Arbor, MI. She co-leads a support group for parents of children and young adults with severe mental health issues and suicide ideation. She also facilitates Family to Family, a six week educational series of classes for families living in support of their loved one. She co-founded a website called HIPAA for Caregivers, which educates families on their rights to help their loved one while under the care of a mental health professional.
Susan is the parent of a young adult with a history of severe mental health issues. She has first-hand knowledge of Borderline Personality Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.
Susan is also a yoga teacher and regularly practices yoga to ease her mind and body. She has a BA in Journalism from Wayne State University, and also attended Culinary Arts School at Schoolcraft College. After careers in writing, sales and the fitness industry, she is retired from eight years of creating, owning and operating an Ann Arbor cafe. Besides advocating for mental health and helping parents, she is working to bring yoga to underserved communities such as addiction centers, mental health facilities, women’s shelters and jails.
