Kimberly C. Burke, Ph.D., is a postdoctoral fellow at the New Jersey Gun Violence Research Center at Rutgers University. Her research examines the structural, social, and individual mechanisms underlying racial inequality, with a specialization in policing. She earned her doctorate in Sociology from University of California, Berkeley, as well as a B.A. from Duke University and an M.A. from San Diego State, both in Women’s Studies.
