Dr. Anestis is a clinical psychologist, the Executive Director of the New Jersey Gun Violence Research Center, and a Professor in the Rutgers School of Public Health. He is the author of approximately 250 peer reviewed publications and a book, entitled Guns and Suicide: An American Epidemic. His research focuses primarily on the role of firearms in suicide, with a particular emphasis on military and veteran communities.
