Jolie Bourgeois is a Program Analyst for the Veterans Crisis Line (VCL), on the National Care Coordination: Research and Development team (R&D). She has served in multiple roles since coming to VCL in 2016 as a Crisis Responder, including as Quality Assurance Silent Monitor for over 3 years. On the R&D team, Jolie develops and implements innovative and evidence-informed interventions, consistent with the mission of suicide prevention, in the form of VCL projects and initiatives, including the particularly VCL Caring Letters program, Lethal Means Safety Counseling Pilot, and Crisis Intervention Safety Planning Pilot. Her contributions include multiple peer-reviewed journal publications on suicide prevention, as well as paper presentations at multiple national conferences. Jolie resides in Houston, TX with her husband, daughter, and dog. She enjoys reading, walking her dog, yoga and lifting weights, and knitting.
