Shye Louis, M.Ed., serves as the Associate Vice President of the 988 Clinical Standards, Training & Practices Division at Vibrant Emotional Health where she oversees the 988 Lifeline’s clinical best practices, training & instructional design, and clinical technologies teams.
She has worked for in the field of suicide/crisis intervention and information & referral since 1989, serving in capacities ranging from volunteer crisis counselor to database manager to contact center director. She has served in leadership roles for crisis centers ranging from small, single-county rural settings, to multi-county urban programs, to national crisis programs. Shye is experienced in service delivery, training, and management of crisis and I&R services in many different service modalities including phone, face-to-face, online chat, and text.
Shye is a current member of the International Council for Helpline’s Accreditation Committee and is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (known now as Inform USA), National Association of Crisis Organization Directors and the New York State Alliance of Information and Referral Systems. She is also a past member of the American Association of Suicidology’s Accreditation and Standards Committee.
