Dr. Hommema, received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Microbiology, cum Laude, with Honors, from The Ohio State University. She worked as a microbiologist at Battelle Memorial Institute prior to receiving her Medical Degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She completed her Family Medicine Residency at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital and serviced as chief resident. After graduation, she joined the Family Medicine faculty at Riverside and soon became Program Director. Her scholarly actiivity and research centered around burnout in the GME population. In 2014 she implemented a comprehensive approach to well-being in her program, and later within the entirty of GME. In 2019 was named Senior Medical Director, Provider and Associate Well-Being, and is responsible for desigining and implementing well-being services and programs for the 35000 associate and providers at OhioHealth.
